The Lute business didn't do it for you?FWIW, I was a HUGE sting fan in the '80s. The music struck something in me at the time and his literary leanings pushed me in a couple of directions I might not have gone. As the '90s wore on and his pretensions became more and more obvious I bought each new CD with a little less eagerness. The whacked out time signatures got more extreme with each release. First 5/4, then 7/4, then 9/4. Like he's just proving that he can do it.I picked up the Lute thing on a whim and curse the weakness that caused it. That and the fact that he appeared on the Grammies wearing what I can only describe as a dress, playing a hurdy-gurdy behind Alison Krauss, put me over the edge. How Stewart and Andy can put up with it for a tour is beyond me.And yes, it's me.
