I love this album for cooking/driving.

Disc one is in the home player, so it gets cooked to.

Disc two is in the car, so it gets driven to.

Of the two discs, I will say that I'm a sucker for the "easy hits" of disc one. For example, the song "How Long" sounds straight outta "Eagles Greatest Hits Vol. 2" territory, and I love it, even given that it retreads so much old ground and is a dippy little pop song. (It even "quotes" earlier Eagles tunes in pretty obvious ways--but I don't care, it's ear candy to me!)

"Long Road Out of Eden" (the song) always elicits the comment from my 3-yr-old that "we already listened to dat one!" In fact, I do believe he said this on the first spin. Clever child.

I did note the Steely Dan-ified tune on disc two, and was glad to see I'm not the only one.

This is a really good album, although I'm dismayed to find that someone else got it for 10.88, as Uncle Wally was charging 11.88 the day I went to town! Wal-Mart owes me a dollar, dangit! That's just under a third of a gallon of gas!
