My son is 16, and plays guitar, but far from any classical influences. Mainly a mixture of grunge, and alternative pop-slush. I am trying to teach him some rudimentary blues scales, and pentatonic licks...which, to my surprise,he actually likes, and is trying them out. He needs to hear more of the older music and expand his horizons. He likes Beatles, but maybe it's time for some Left Banke!
