Damn Gene! I'd love to see Lil' Ed!! Tons of energy, a real throwback to Chicago Blues of the 50's and 60's. Jimmy Thackery, Buckwheat Zydeco, and Charlie Musselwhite would also be worth seeing.

As far as Keb' Mo'--if you ever get the chance to see him, do so. Definitely more laid back than a lot of blues acts, but his music is so sincere and his playing so clean it's hard not to have a great time. I was fortunate enough to have front row seats to see him here last year and it was a fabulous show. I refer to him as the James Taylor of the Blues, and I mean that as an absolute compliment.

ps--Great summer lineup coming in ATL this year. So far I'm lined up to see Bruce, the Eagles, Petty, James Taylor, Plant/Krauss, and Sheryl Crow, along with a show featuring the B-52's and Cindy Lauper (that one's for the wife). I had to pass on ZZ Top and Mark Knopfler due to other commitments. There are still 2 major concert series to be announced, so I'm guessing it's not over and I'll have to get a second mortgage to cover it all. Bonnaroo's just a few hours up the road, so that's still a remote option too, but our local Music Midtown festival got mothballed a few years ago and doesn't look like it's coming back.

Love to have a DB or D&D date around here sometime in 08.....
