"Everybody here (at least those on the left) wanted me to apologize for the little kid thread...or even delete my post. But why would I? How was it any different than all the crap Pat or Dale or I have to put up with? The reason we don't just up and leave is beacuse, like congress or the senate, we have to come to a compromise. Well, at least I do. But as Dale pointed out, there is no getting through to you guys, so we might as well just toss some molitovs once in a while."

So . . . why apologize for tossing in the molotovs? Really? You're asking this in earnest? I'm only asking because you seem very intelligent. Perhaps it is your choice of metaphor that is binding you to the notion that your post was just a harmless act like throwing a bottle filled with gasoline that has a lit rag sticking out the top. In fact, that kind of routine escalation of metaphor points to the fact that you are blind to what you actually have done, which is simply this: you have been rude.

Decent people apologize when they have been rude.

"Do you really believe that me posting up a 1 line message title vaguely linking db to some ghetto kid spewing some gw smack down talk was going to bring the CIA to HIS door?"

Again, this is not to the point. You have been rude. Decent people apologize when they have been rude. I speak from a position of what once was called "tough love." Tough love demands that we tell people when they are being / have been rude. The idea behind that is that when one notices that one has been rude, well . . . decent people apologize.

"I won't apologize, but I will refer you all to the time that I gave Reg the theater 101 lesson a few years ago. Dig in the archives if you didn't see it originally...it was classic and that makes it fun sometimes. A suspension of disbelief...I just can't believe db fell for it too."

Apparantly your so-called lesson involves being rude and refusing to apologize. Somehow I doubt that Reg or anyone else here took much of a lesson from it. Are people rude around here sometimes, including me? Absolutely. And yet apologies do happen . . . among decent people.

"I think many of (if not most) the participants on this forum were probably members even before me when I posted my first post here in late 2001 (november I think) so I won't re-tell in it's entirety, but in summary I had to come here because of my experience on 9/11 in NYC."

This part of your post was actually rather fascinating to me. You were drawn here by the song, yet (evidently) repulsed by the political opinions, and yet drawn to come back and continue throwing your so-called (by way of highly-inflated metaphor) molotovs into the board.

Do you not see the conflicting motivations there?

What it really amounts to though is rudeness. No matter the political stripe, decent people apologize.

Oh--and they strive not to be so rude in the future, too.
