An interesting argument, though if that was the case then why was "Frost/ Nixon" or "Doubt" even nominated for film or acting awards. “Doubt” swept the Tony’s a few years back and even though it used a different cast than the original stage production, it didn’t deviate far from the stage screenplay. And Mr. Vampire already portrayed Nixon in the stage for years. What’s so new there? Penn BECAME “Milk” regardless of how he went about it. If I where portraying the man I would study as much film footage on him as I could.
