I very much enjoyed reading your analysis, particularly the bit about the impossibility of playing Nixon, Elvis, or Ali. Just wanted to thank you for posting that because it gave me something interesting to think about.

I have not seen any of the oscar-nom films, with the exception of Wall-E, which I thought was good but not great. I am anxious to see the Nixon film but haven't taken the time yet. Right now I'm more interested in locating Youtube videos of old Kazan films (just watched Wild River for the first time recently, cut up into ten-inch vids. Loved it).

Oddly enough, the first movie I expect to see in a theater in quite some time will be Watchmen, but that's because I've wanted to see that story made into a film for a couple of decades now. I'll also likely go to see Wolverine, as well as Star Trek to round out the trifecta.
