There’s this cat who played a small (but integral) character part in a movie only me and seven other saps found entertaining, The Replacements. I roll in a daft & sentimental sorta way sometimes, so I can appreciate the chicks, theatrics, comedy, & the Rocky Balboa underdog-makes-good-on-heart-principle-&-effort sorta premise, … along with the cool football choreography …and Jon Favreau …AND Gene Hackman, and the restrained talent of Orlando Jones (and Keanu Reeves’ willingness to actually look the part of a QB --- so well that, according to lore, he was approached by the Baltimore Ravens quarterback coach).
*Anyway…the actor I mean to call attention to is Rhys Ifans. He stole every scene he was in as the Guinness drinkin’, Marlboro smokin’, scrappy Welsh place-kicker and gambling addict named Nigel ‘The Leg’ Gruff..
So a while back I queried his filmography.
He’s played several character roles, and snatched the lead
in a li’l flick called Danny Deckchair, which I’ve since enjoyed twice.
It’s a good movie. A sappy rags to riches to rags to rich catharsis yarn, though. So…

(Uh nope, Reg, it’s not a poignant übersauce directed blood-n-guts Old West spaghetti porno…sorry, bro. No doubt messybear remain off your film recommendations radar n short list, oh woe is messy, for another while.)
