The thing was that there were some people in the room behind the camera that were shooting pool and had no idea who David & the NFU were. They were already up there when people started coming in for the show. These two girls asked me a bunch of questions about David and the band and what kind of music they played, the guys in the group seemed much less interested. So, the people you hear chattering were not there to see the band. The other thing is I believe the camera shooting this was set up closer to the back of the room which is where the bar and pool table were and so the mic on the camera is picking up the ambient chatter behind it. I honestly don't think that chatter would have been too obvious to the band or the people sitting in the darkened portion of the room closer to the band. That was where most of the people who came to see the show were. I was sitting at the back of the room near the pool table and bar so I could certainly hear them but I honestly was not bothered by it because it was just so great to see these guys play.
Here's the good part about the chatter and something funny. The two young ladies that asked me about the band came over and thanked me after the show and said they thought they were really good. I said they should not thank me they should thank the band and pointed in the direction of the stage but Will happened to be standing there when I pointed and so they went over to talk to him. So, at least some good came of it and I think Will went over to shoot pool with the "chatter group" after that. The funny part was the drummer would later complain to me that there were no women at the shows they were doing. I said there were a few women in the crowd that night and he said something like "Yeah, that was the most we've had and there were like three!"
That really cracked me up and I said "Sorry, I'm not a hot chick." and he said "Well, that's ok." still looking disappointed.
Did Dale shoot this? I know he made a recording of the show but now I don't recall if it was this or just sound.
