Throwing this out I'd also like to mention the compression wars that the artists seem to enjoy engaging in, with Beck being one of the worst offenders.
I also "like" some of these quote-unquote remasters. Ever notice how badly recorded that first 4-CD set of Zeppelin remasters sounds?
