Now if she had said, this saddens and sickens you more than anything else in recent memory, you'd have reason to chastise.

But hers was an emotional response, not rational.

It's as legitimate as any response could be.....to her!

And to many of us.

Does Iraq ding more of an emotional bell with you than does this environmental catastrophe?

With respect to oil companies gaining more than losing from a self-made disaster, I hope you're right, I hope they wouldn't think of considering such a measure.

It is tempting to speculate, however, when one realizes that in 2007 BP sold more than 650,000 barrels of oil per day time 44 gals of gas, the income from a ten, twenty, thirty cent increase in price per gallon is staggering enough to rejoice whatever the cause.
