Cassandra/Kevin thank you for the advice... Cass my wife has been using Trip Advisor, so that has been a great help. Some of the places you mentioned we did check out but are booked up, unfortunately. Others look stunning but a little too dear for us. At this stage, we've abandoned the NJ idea, and we've been looking at a couple of mid-range places in Long Island, top of the list right now being a place called the Country Inn & Suites...
