Icon A little more clarification...

To further clarify what I meant, it seems to me, that for the last twenty years - from about 1990 forward - the evolution of music has sort of reached a certain era (maybe if I get ambitious I could sort of map a time line out to illustrate what I mean, but I doubt it).

When I wrote about this I'm not specifically writing about the "sound" of music, but of this sort of precipice or horizon that is overlooking the direction of music and where it is going.

Additionally, a way to metaphorically describe it would be to suggest imagine back in the 50's, or even maybe late 40's, when it came to the future of music, a person is standing before the most beautiful, mystery filed, unexplored view of canyons, lakes and big sky, while thinking, "all this has yet to be explored."

And now fast forward to the present - what else can be imagined when it comes to the development and production of sound? Will it take electrodes being attached to our heads so we can feel music in a different way to allow it to be taken further? I don't know....

But at one point many years ago, collectively there were a lot of people out there who had no idea where music was headed. Maybe it was when Dylan went electric or when Hendrix appeared on the scene. But back then, it had to be like a huge smack to the face and ears along with a feeling of "where can we go from here!!!"

I hope I'm wrong and we have this wonderment ahead of us, but I don't think we will. It's like now, rock and roll felt differently to me when I was much younger. It spoke to me differently.

It made me feel like I could grab the world a bit and shake it a bit. Of course that was a naive and juvenile thought, but it still was there.
