As the political writer John Heilemann pointed out the other day - if Romney wins it will change presidential political campaigns in the future for the worse. What he was commenting on was there is not one honest and sincere political pundit out there that has not noticed Romney's positions have shifted, changed, morphed and flip flopped more than any presidential candidate in modern times. And that for him to escape this fact and be successful will most likely lead to a new era where politicians lie more then ever and their followers simply do not give a shit. And this is bad regardless of what candidate you are following. Frankly, in my about 30 yrs of following this stuff, I have NEVER seen a presidential candidate as fluid as Romney has been when it comes to stating and professing his core beliefs. It has been remarkable.
