Well there are over 300 million legal guns in America so your phonebook analogy is probably close to correct, but probably 99% of those guns don't just walk out into the street and start shooting people by themselves.

Much like cars don't do that either. It takes a driver that is drunk or suicidal or just plain nuts for one of them to kill somebody willfully.

Do you think the answer is to take those 99% of legal guns away from law abiding citizens because of the 1% of people that use them in a crime?

If so, then why don't we outlaw cars?

Just so you know, the only armor I own is for dirt biking and it wouldn't stop a bullet. It is mostly for keeping my limbs from being broken by falls. :)
