For anyone that has followed national politics for a long time, it certainly must be agreed upon that this is one of strangest elections cycles ever seen and what makes it even worse is that this de-evolution will only continue.

It seems to me that Americans and America are spiraling more and more into a more self based society. That above all else, the only thing that really matters is the self.

On top of this, our technology is encouraging this trend - we are getting away from a true collective society - Durkheim is probably rolling in his grave.

Added to this is the decline of white America. I think to whites, there is a palpable, deep, subconscious fear of decline in White America. To me, white male conservatives are afraid. They see extinction as a possibility and are extremely worried. And I think a large part of this concern is based in fear that later, those they treated poorly, may turn around and treat them just as poorly.

As for the current stated of the GOP - I think these buffoons are so fearful, that they are holding onto their "brand" so tightly that they are killing it. I can't think of a group of so deeply unprincipled people than conservatives right now.

Look at all the shit that Republicans are doing - from the issue of filling the US Supreme Court vacancy, to the religious right getting ready to get on board with a morally bankrupt person like Trump, SOLELY because they think he might win an election.

Watch...if he is the nominee, the Republicans WILL fall in line.

Then, on to the American people and the sadness over the pile of shit they will buy, eat and digest. Just look at that last debate. This shows the continued downward spiral of a spectator based populace. It is all becoming a huge game show.

We are such a depressing, vapid country right now headed toward a more dysfunctional society and the promise of the future, to me, is quite worrisome.......
