I have been a Tivo owner since Oct of 2000. I won it in a contest and then sprung for the lifetime subscription. For the first few months - that's pretty much all I could talk to people about...Tivo does this or Tivo did that. I was even annoying myself. That initial awe wore off and I slipped into the Tivo quiet bliss mode. Really, I don't watch a lot of TV - mostly news and sports. But Tivo has made TV so much more enjoyable. It might sound trivial - but I don't care when anything is on. I watch what I want to watch when I want to watch it - skipping commercials along the way. And don't forget about the pausing and rewinding live TV. Anyway - put it this way. If my Tivo broke - I would have to go buy another one. Simple as that. Also - there's a pretty large community following online - where I learned how to upgrade the recording space (I now have about 150 hours or space) and add network support so I can program the Tivo over the net or dump shows digitally from the Tivo to my computer to stick on DVDs.
Ok - my dirty little secret's out. I love my Tivo.
