I work for a bank and interest rates are at historic lows. My wife and I just refinanced our mortgage and cut our rate in half. We didn't pay any fees to do it either. As far as credit card interest; I don't pay a dime on my credit cards because I pay off the balance every month.

If anyone is getting "fucked" by a bank it's because the customer hasn't done their homework or their fiscally irresponsible.
