Pat,

Let us know if The Mule is good...I've seen conflicting reviews.

It is so strange watching people you follow age...from a robust, athletic man to an elderly octogenarian....

Often when I watch Eastwood movies, especially from the 70s, it's clear how aspects of them would be different if made today, especially when it comes to dialog. For example, in Dirty Harry one of his colleagues uses the big daddy of all slur words, as does Eastwood in Escape From Alcatraz. I think if both of them had been made today, that wouldn't have happened (just like if Blazing Saddles had been made today, the whole Cleavon Little part would not be included). Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting we need more of this, but that it shows a changing culture.

Onto Making A Murderer. Well, after watching season one and hearing of the evidence against Avery, it seemed to be pretty good stuff. Then, watching Katleen Zellner go to work was quite troubling. She both inserts a whole lot of reasonable doubt and asks the viewer to take some tremendous leaps of belief in the conspiracy that she is advocating.

I don't want to provide spoilers - but will add this, watching these 20 hrs is very troubling when it comes to the actions of our government and governmental employees.

On top of that, to watch what they did to a 16 yr old, mentally disabled teenager was very, very troubling. And to see the segments on him and then watching and listening to the supposed educated adults and their inability to see a similar thing was greatly disturbing.

I simply did not understand how others had a different opinion of his interrogation and of how his first attorney and his investigator violated his constitutional rights and have not been removed from their practices.

The last point I will make is that it is clear the state of Wisconsin knows if either is ever given another trial, that there is enough reasonable doubt no matter if Avery committed this murder or not and THAT reasonable doubt is their own fault.

Oh, one last point....this documentary also clearly shows that Americans have a built-in intrinsic faith and belief in a fair government and that it is an unfair rationale that is very, very hard to knock down, especially when disinformation escapes from the start.
