...but I would say that being president also crushes his ego on a regular basis. It exposes him over and over for the moron he is and that he only knows how to operate as a criminal. He hates this. He hates our European allies and Canada because they know he is stupid and ignorant. He can't stand that. He got visual and audio evidence of them laughing at him recently again but that has happened over and over. They are stunned by how much Trump does not know and does not understand over and over and Trump is completely aware of this.
He loves the rallies because he gets to ramble and those clowns cheer him. Outside of the rallies though, everybody he deals with knows he is a total inept clown. That includes Democrats and Republicans.
Putin, the Chinese, the Saudis, Netanyahu...these guys all love Trump and Trump loves them back because they know how dumb he is but they tell him he's great. Trump is so easily played it is a joke but he is not aware enough to know this, he just likes the ego stroking. I do think that Trump likes that being president brings him closer to Putin, the Saudis, and the Chinese. He is desperate to be liked by these guys because he sees them as his superiors because they have more money than him.
The sad thing is, we don't have a president. We have a dumb front man. Moscow Mitch McConnell is the leader of the United States right now. He has been throughout the Trump presidency. Trump has done nothing, he barely shows up to work. And when he does show up he has no idea what is going on.
Moscow Mitch runs the whole damn show and he has only three objectives...confirm judges that are favorable only to the wealthy and are corrupt, lower taxes for the rich, kill all other legislation.
Done, done, and done.
Trump is just the circus to distract everybody while Mitch does all the work. This is why elected Republicans like Trump. They can do anything they want, none of their voters have any idea what the fuck they are doing, and Trump parades around acting like a fool and everybody just focuses on him. It's fantastic!
The House has sent hundreds of pieces of legislation to the Senate. Stuff that was passed with bipartisan support. Stuff that would help working Americans. Reduce drug pricing, address gun violence, all manner of things that would make our country better and stronger.
Mitch won't let any of it reach the floor for a vote. He's proud of this. He loves the power. He gives not one flying shit about helping working Americans. He knows his legacy will be that he jammed through as many unqualified and corrupt judges as he could while he was there.
The "do nothing" Democrats line Trump loves is as usual a total lie but a lie that is absolutely true about him and Mitch. Mitch McConnell has turned the government into a total and complete do nothing entity.
He kills everything the House votes to pass. The most outrageous lie being told over and over during this impeachment stuff may be the one Republicans spew about "we should be working on stuff to help the American people, like lowering drug prices..."
Utter bullshit from House Republicans. They already passed legislation for that. It's been sitting on Moscow Mitch's desk. He won't let it reach the floor for a vote. He brags that he kills all this stuff. He brags that he has for many years now made government totally useless.

The reason I thought that Hillary would beat Trump in 2016 was not just because I thought Trump was a nut...it was because she was the one true Republican running for president and that the Republicans, not the average Joe voters but the wealthy ones that pay for their elected officials, all knew it.
Trump is not a Republican. The guy believes in nothing. Is loyal to nothing. He has no morals and no values. He just wants to stuff his pockets full of cash and fuck everybody. If anything Trump is a nihilist except one that has no idea he is and has no idea what that word means. His idea of governing is chaos.
