I re-read my message and I think I was not clear.  I don't favor a ban on fracking.  My point was that the massive environmental look-the-other-way for now that Obama allowed - more or less let fracking explode - especially where I live on and near the Marcellus shale area.  That in turn led to cheaper gas for electricity which in turn simply turned the knife even more hastening coal's demise.  If fracking had been regulated as hard as coal - that probably wouldn't have happened so fast.  My desire would be for the next President to push the country toward cheaper renewables and let the cheaper energy (and greener) hasten the death of fracking.

I know this is your field of expertise - so I obviously defer to your knowledge.  I just wanted to clarify my position.
