"Sane elderly and suburban housewives who gave Trump a try last election, had to have been appalled by Frontline program. " I agree with the above, heathcliffe, but how many people watch Frontline? Don't get me wrong, it's a national treasure, but the thing that took a long time for me to grasp was how shockingly uninformed Americans are across the political spectrum. Honestly, the ignorance is mind boggling. And I get how busy people are, or how incurious they are, and how they just have to watch The Bachelor, or America's Got Talent, or some shitty Jennifer Aniston flick for the fifth time, or how they are captured by hundreds of other vacuous distraction devices that are so readily available to us. To be reasonably informed is hard work and requires a fair amount of time. And I know many people are simply exhausted juggling work, family, health, and other demands. Most Americans can't keep up with the avalanche of information that's released each day, but they have to try as that's the patriotic thing to do. And let's face it, most have chosen their political team and the politicians are left to fight over that small uncommitted slice of the electorate in just a handful of states. Now if those people would faithfully watch Frontline we'd all sleep better. Peter T.
