Icon A personal story that shows Trump's pull...

I have a highly intelligent older uncle.  He has been a big business acolyte, conservative Republican about all his life.  He lives in Texas and makes frequent trips.  Earlier this year and after all of Trump's and Fox News' pushing of Hydroxychloroquine, he had one of his planned trips and told his personal doctor that he wanted a prescription for Hydroxychloroquine for preventative steps for his upcoming trip.  At first, his personal doctor told him the crap was not effective, had potential troubling side effects and would not do it.  After continued pestering by my uncle (clearly based upon the words of Trump) his personal doctor relented and gave in.  But he also provided my uncle with documentation over the fallicies of this drug for COVID-19. Now, what does that tell you about people and Trump and Fox News?  How is that a person is willing to take the word of people not even really known to them over the word of their personal doctor?
