Let me throw the question to you Peter (and Reg and anyone else). Was 2016 unfair?
No, and when it happened I think I wrote here that we get the government we deserve. I'm sorry to say we deserved Trump. Sucks to say it but due to a long list of failures by Republicans and Democrats we finally ended up with Donald Trump.
I think the good news is, after 4 years of him we course corrected and voted him out.
However, Trump as you state, is not just a president to some people. He is a savior, a vessel of the lord, he is a person they have attached themselves to in a very unhealthy way...and that is not easy to fix.
And the truth is he is a con artist and all the con artists out there see what he was able to accomplish and they now fully believe they can replicate it. This will haunt us for some time...unless he is punished and these con artists see he did not get away with it.
