I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree, Reg. I see dangers on the far left, and of course, on the right. And yes, as I've written repeatedly, the threat to American democracy is from the Republican Party. But if we want to bolster GOP chances in 2022, and 2024, Democrats have to police our own and distance ourselves from these intolerant cotton-headed thought/word police. Whether it's in education, Silicon Valley, or entertainment,  Fox happily awaits the next far-left initiative at a fancy NYC prep school, or an Oklahoma state university, or the banishing of a once prominent writers who dared speak out against  speech codes or simply said something that was acceptable yesterday but isn't today, or the next foolish utterance by Ibram X. Kendi. You would think that we're back in the horrible Jim Crow days when in reality, has there ever been a better time in America to be black, gay, transgender, or secular? Yes, governmental efforts to shutdown free speech are the most chilling, but similar efforts in other settings also warrant our attention and action.

I think this issue first hit me when I learned of the horrific treatment of Bret Weinstein at Evergreen State University (a public school, so that would fall in the government category). I posted the link here a few years or so ago but the 1-2 hour documentary is as relevant today as ever, and it's fascinating, chilling, and a harbinger of what we've seen play out at many colleges and universities. This is the first of three parts, and I couldn't take my eyes off of it.
