Icon Why I think National Republican Pols avoided any responsibility for J6

I continue to sit back and am sometimes amazed at the lack of political repercussions for J6 and at the same time am not.

For example, one part of my amazement first started at the complete lack of any meaningful repercussions faced by Republican congresspeople (but that has subsided) and is only now replaced with things like how Republicans and their supporters are attempting to change the narrative by foisting blame upon others like Pelosi, BLM and other Democrats instead of their own ilk.

And why have these Republicans avoided any sort of blame or responsibility?

Here is what I think is the reason why: While J6 was going on and unfolding, there was a peek into the minds and thoughts of political Republicans and at first they were horrified and did see what was going on and did react in an appropriate way.  But then, they soon discovered that to their supporters, what happened to J6 was not only no big deal, but an appropriate reaction, and not only was it an appropriate reaction, but it was an action that they demanded and felt like they deserved and were owed.

Not only these points, but these National Republicans also learned very quickly that to even criticized J6 was not to be encouraged or even allowed.

And to make matters worse, Democrats have let them get away with it.  They have failed to articulate in several ways what should have been an easy win with J6.

For example, they really failed to point out how if J6 had been conducted by any other groups than white people how things would have been much different - completely different.  Let me be clear - if J6 had been carried out by Blacks, people would have been dead on the spot.  And they should have framed this in a way that made it resonate more with people of all different groups if these groups had descended upon the US Capitol.

Another failure on the part of National Democrats is to fully understand and deal with the psyche of Republicans.  To them, nothing matters but winning, and they have given example after example as proof of that and continue to do so.

Let me point out a stark example of how deeply entrenched the Republican mindset is when it comes to party favoritism - and really, think of this and how deep it goes - as a retired police officer that still loves policing (but also realizes there are serious issues within policing), I sat back and watched police officers fighting for their lives and I mean in ways that police officers deeply fear happening on a day to day basis.  But at the end of the day, Republican police officers I personally know have done everything they can to find ways to excuse what went on during J6 and it makes me sick.

I know police officers that used to teach riot control tactics that find not too much to feel abhorrent about when it comes to J6.

So, THAT is how deep the party loyalty goes when it comes to Republicans and their mindset and the Democrats have down horribly to fully understand this.

Believe me, I don't know what the answer is.  I really don't.  As I age, I deeply believe that Americans have been so deeply manipulated and conditioned that the real possibility of making America a truly wonderful experience is lost upon us.  I think this country has been molded into a country of utter lemmings that have bought into a complete fairy tale sold to us by commercial America so that we continued to be willful customers of all things sold to us, both mentally and physically and how so much of this product is truly immaterial to a truly wonderful society.

(Think of this - imagine of energy and vehicle manufacturers really took American's interests to heart all these years and truly put American interests first - but all this time these companies have always believed in the bottom line rather than forecasting a meaningful future - imagine if vehicle manufactures really focused on pushing vehicles that were more energy efficient all this time instead of ways to sell the most cheaply made vehicle for as much money as possible.  Or if energy producers had focused on all other energy methods in the interest of America instead of trying to squeeze that last drop of profits from the easiest and cheapest way of creating energy. But instead these companies focus on globalism to maintain their profits.)
