So, this is something I have been thinking about quite a bit since Trump got elected. Right Wing media existed before him and so they have been shoveling nonsense to the masses for decades now. Add in social media and weird internet personalities, Alex Jones for example, and essentially the promotion of the idea that you can choose what is a fact and really that is a recipe for disaster. 

Here's the key though, the Right has been using cult tactics to isolate and bomb their followers with the falsehoods they want them to believe. They have it down to a science now to the point where they can just make up anything they want and people believe it. Millions of people. Essentially what they have done is create and successfully maintain the world's biggest cult. They have major media outlets like FOX, newspapers owned by the Murdochs, fringe outlets like One America, social media, the biggest most wide reaching megaphone a cult has ever had. 

I break it down like this:

Isolation - Those that are isolated literally and/or isolated in their group part of the country. Isolating to only the news outlets they chose as well. 

Bombardment - Hit them with a constant stream of what you want them to believe. A constant repetition of the message. 

Victimhood/Paranoia - Build a sense of victimhood and escalating paranoia. Create the "they" that are coming after them. Democrats, immigrants, teachers, scientists, doctors, the media, whomever you do not want them to listen to.

Demonization - Lead them to the point where the "they" is so evil, anything goes to defeat them. 

Loyalty - Pledge loyalty to the leader/group with no exceptions.

Now, if you evaluate how you get someone to cult like behavior and how that works, in terms of the MAGA cult, the Democrats play pretty much no role. The reason being that they are essentially eliminated from the MAGA cult followers world. 

So, it really does not matter what the Democrats say about anything, the cult does not hear that. They only hear what the cult programmers tell them about the Democrats and what they are doing. So, the role of Democrats in maintaining the cult or causing their behavior is wildly diminished. 

This is not to say that the Democrats don't make mistakes to help the programmers maintain the cult, they do. When they ran Hillary and got all in behind her, that was a mistake. Having her out front was a gift to the programmers. They had been telling the cult members that Hillary was evil, the Democrats ran her, hence all the Democrats are evil. They could not have made it more simple. 

The programmers now have a simple path with female Democrats. They are super simple for them to demonize. So, you take Kamla Harris, there is nothing wrong with her, she was a solid senator, but like Hillary, there was a stiffness there as a campaigner. Same with Elizabeth Warren. AOC is better at being in front of the cameras but she is young and female, and a progressive that her own party often takes issue with. So, again this makes it easy for the programmers to sell these women as evil and turn people against them. 

It can end in violence, as what happened to Paul Pelosi, because the cult (some who are actually mentally ill) buys in to the extent that they believe these people should be killed. The Q cult members do believe that Trump will bring the "storm" and kill Democrats and people that oppose him. So, they accept that murdering these people is just fine and what should be done. 

The cult now is so entrenched that you can sell them total fiction like CRT, classroom litterboxes, that teachers are teaching students to change their sexual orientations, that elections have been stolen, that vaccines are poison, white people are evil, that people are coming for their guns, that if you are not "with them" you are a baby killer, or that Democrats hate Christmas. These are all lies, fictions the cult programmers sell 24/7/365.

The MAGA cult is rooted in violence, cruelty, constant mean spiritedness, and a wide range of false beliefs. None of this is was generated nor spurred on by the Democrats. They may give the cult programmers some easy lay ups at times, but the thing is the cult knows nothing about nor hears anything from the Democrats themselves because they have been programmed not to hear them.

So, to find a solution, the issue is not curbing what Democrats say, the cult won't hear it no matter what they say. They only hear what the programmers say the Democrats say...which is all falsehoods. 

You need to break through the programming which is hard because the cult is taught to repeat the programming and not to trust those that won't repeat it.
