From as far back as I can remember, I always enjoyed their hit songs, but their resonance really started back in 1985. I had just started junior college in a new town and was driving around campus and the area to learn it and on this rainy day, I put their debut tape in my cassette player while driving in the rain on a gray, cold day. 

I don't know what it was, but the cassette really struck me and at this time in my life, my political and social views were really just starting to develop (it took a while). 

In a way, they were my gateway into the world of socially meaningful artists. 

But that day, man, it is still so vivid and oddly, I can remember the exact road and location when this music revelation struck me - I just can't remember which song it was.
