The contingent of people you are talking about all bailed some time ago. I think they were all gone before Trump was elected.

Marc and Pat were the last two and then Marc split, and left Pat here on his own. Pat was not putting in many appearances and when he was, he was avoiding saying anything about what was happening in the world. 

Which was why I was surprised when he waded back into that. 

Kevin G, was the only convert here. Well, at least that we know of, and I believe he said this board was a part of his conversion. I would not have expected it, as I thought at the time Kevin may have been the most difficult type of Republican to convert, but it happened. I hoped Kevin might be able to convince Pat and Marc to rethink their positions but no dice.

So, I mean in times where I think most people feel no meaningful conversation can happen...score that one for this message board. At the very least, some sort of meaningful dialogue happened here and Kevin used it as part of how he came to a new outlook on the world. 

Ross has said he is not a Republican, and that he votes Democrat the majority of the time. His friend is the current Director of National Parks. I think you can have a discussion with Ross. He is, like Pat, from Texas. Houston, I believe. I thought Pat was somewhere in the Austin area but I really don't recall. Texas, from my perspective, is an odd place and I think living there does have a bizarre impact on a person. Also a pro football player once chased me through the Dallas airport, I think because he thought I had an affair with his wife, and so I don't have great memories of Dallas.
