I see the MAGA thing as making very little sense and so, I least I am often confused by it. The only way it makes sense to me, with the way it has been constructed and maintained is as the result of foreign interference through influence programs. So much of what is MAGA is just an invention. Made up nonsense. The MAGA crowd see the country as in ruins, the future destroyed, their lives endangered. They see attacks coming at them from every direction. They are awash in victimhood.
They believe the people that have done this to them are Democrats, immigrants, the woke, gay, lesbian, and transgender people, teachers, doctors, scientists. None of that is true, but they are wholly convinced of it because, Right Wing media, religious groups and oddball internet groups have repeated it to them...along with a group of very corrupt politicians.
There is plenty out there that says that people like Rupert Murdoch and his crew, people like Tucker Carlson, are foreign influence agents. All of these internet groups MAGA fans belong to, including Trump's Truth Social, are foreign influence infected. Our government knows that several foreign countries have troll farms set-up to join these groups and spread disinformation. Carlson was easy to spot because he repeated word for word Russian disinformation direct from the Kremlin. Social media is swamped in this stuff.
We know that the information fed to the MAGA fans is all about creating chaos and destruction. So, really the MAGA crowd serves their foreign masters. This is why the Republican party is in total chaos. MAGA is not working for them, it has eaten them alive.
I think I read somewhere that the Russians have 32 different words for spies that run from "useful idiot" all the way up to the top of the chain. Supposedly they have more words for spy and intelligent asset than any other language. Some of the connections, the assets, are through the Christian community. Through churches. Which likely goes a good way toward explaining why Christians are so committed to Donald Trump and the MAGA movement. I've always found them predisposed to preferring beliefs over truths so really, they make a perfect target.
I don't think the Republicans that want to get away from the MAGA movement really know what to do. There is a path, and plan of some kind, which is to go ahead and let Trump be the candidate for president again and watch him fail spectacularly. This is not the greatest plan because it has some real faults built into it.
First, the MAGA crowd won't believe that Trump lost. Trump will go even nuttier claiming he won the bigger his loss. The MAGA people will believe that. Joe Biden is not a popular candidate and if he crushes Trump, and it sure looks like he will, Trump and his crowd will scream bloody murder the fix was in.
They still don't believe Trump lost in 2020, there is no way they will believe he will lose in 2024. He will though because the voters that swept him to victory in 2016 long ago left him. The independents, the Democrats that voted for him, and the moderate Republican voters that voted for him have walked away from Trump. They want nothing to do with him.
It means Trump will lose by more than the 8 million votes he lost by the last time. He will dominate Republican primaries because his MAGA people constitute a large chunk of the party. Mike Pompeo already dropped out, DeSantis I believe is watching Trump's legal problems closely and if things don't go really bad for Trump in that area, if he maintains his base, DeSantis may not even run. He's losing support anyway from the money people and Republican insiders. Ron hinted at this already, that he has not said he is running yet because he may not. At this stage it looks like Nikki Haley may be the strongest candidate going against the Donald and she will not win the MAGA voters...they do not believe women belong in positions of power so, she has no shot.
The Republican party is swimming in chaos and backstabbing. Kevin McCarthy is total joke. Marjorie Greene has more power than him and she is a foreign agent. She may be too stupid to know it, I have no idea but she is in no way loyal to the United States.
Everything that is happening with the Republican party looks like they got yanked in to probably several foreign intelligence operations and some know they are guilty, some know they got used, nobody wants to admit anything, so it is chaos, backstabbing, and going down in flames with Donald Trump. Which servers the MAGA foreign masters.
It was a Republican I read saying we are only halfway through this mess. Trump has to run, get destroyed, and then we have to go through the chaos of another massive round of "It was rigged!" and the collapse of the Republican party, and see where that leads them and us...and then we can begin to turn this around.
