Well, now we are really in it. Trump is facing charges that actually would result in jail time. The response from people like Kevin McCarthy and Mark Levin, among others, is truly dangerous and an attempt to incite violence. Not to mention they are lying their asses off.

It is hard to grasp why when for the good of their party the best thing would be to have Trump get destroyed by the crimes he has committed. They have been handed yet another offramp to escape the Trump madness and again, they pushed the gas pedal to the floor and sped by it.

I realize that there is this theory that you never charge a president with crimes because it looks horrible for the country but I would counter that with, don't elect or support within your party a guy that is going to consistently break the law and give the country the finger as he does it. Don't back him up when he lies over and over again.

When you have the chance to back away from that guy, to let him flush himself down the toilet with his own mistakes...let him go. Walk away and move to the task of repairing your party.

DeSantis makes me laugh the most. While he is obviously trying to present himself as more MAGA than Trump, he is likely dancing with joy to see Trump indicted in Florida. He had no shot to beat Donald but if Trump goes down because of all the crimes he has committed, Ron becomes the Republican frontrunner. Granted a weak one, but he also gets to run against Joe Biden if he makes it to the general as the Republican candidate. Biden should beat him but it is not the slam dunk running against Trump would be.

DeSantis should be absolutely unloading on Trump right now, Trump would be slamming him endlessly if this was happening to Ron, but is he? Nope, he is coming out on Trump's side, calling this the "weaponization" of the justice system and making every wrong move he can. I realize he now wants to play Donny's hero and claim he will pardon him if elected, but that's not how you beat Trump or sway his MAGA voters. Telling them Trump should not be punished for his crimes just tells them Trump is innocent and they should stick with him. And his MAGA voters are going to stick with Trump.

So, when Hillary was running while under federal investigation in 2016, everybody knew she likely should not have continued to run because it would hurt her chances and was a bad look. Now Trump is actually under federal indictment, charged with crimes, and he should step aside and end his campaign. Will he? No way, he will run from jail.

Republicans, in private meetings with Trump and some of them in public in the media, should be asking Trump to please step aside, for the good of the party and to give them a chance to win in 2024. They have no shot with him, Trump should understand this, and if he really gave a damn about the party, he would step aside and let the Republicans do what is best for them. They desperately need to make a break from Trump, he is poison to them. Are they doing that? Nope.

It looks to me that many of these lunatics, McCarthy, Levin, Jordan, believe they have just one path forward, push the MAGA crowd to commit violent acts and hope the country descends into madness and chaos. I think they are just waiting to see how many of them take the bait.

This lie that they are promoting that Biden is the one prosecuting Trump is pretty ridiculous. If Joe wants to be president for a second term, Trump is the one guy that absolutely guarantees him the job. Are FOX viewers really that stupid not to see it is not the Democrats that got Trump? All the people that are getting Trump are Republicans. Trump's own people are testifying against him. Mark Meadows just flipped on Trump for the January 6th attack. It's been all Republicans testifying against Trump. They got him. The Democrats are just an audience watching it happen.

Amazing that they don't want to get off the Trump highway to hell. Hopefully, they don't get any more people killed in this process.
