Well, my take on Robert Kennedy Jr. is nuanced. So, there are different parts of it and different things I think about him. I certainly don't think of him as a disgrace. He's spent a very large portion of his life fighting for good causes and I think he would likely be a far better president in terms of how he would handle foreign policy than we have had in a very long time.

Now, the main thing you will hear discussed about him is what he has or has not said about vaccines. I did begin looking at that just a short time ago after he announced his presidential run, and at the moment I feel like there is more for me to look into on that.

Let me first be clear, I am not an anti-vax person. I have had 4 doses of the Covid vax, I've had my flu vaccinations over the years. I have no fear nor paranoia about taking the needle. I believe in doctors and scientists, my wife works at a science university, I do not personally spread any ideas to convince people to avoid vaccines.  So, there is no appeal, for me, with regards to what RFK Jr. is saying about vaccinations.

I've read neither of his books, the one about thimerosal nor his book on Fauci. So, can't really comment about what is in them. I primarily have looked at or read several interviews with him since his announcing his run for president.  He never mentioned vaccines when he announced his run. I think in many cases he does not address that when he speaks about running for president.

He also points out over and over he is pro-science and pro-vaccine. He is vaccinated (with the exception of Covid) and his family and children are vaccinated. He says, over and over, he has never told anyone not to take a vaccine. He says he has been getting a flu shot every year for the last 20 years. That seems to indicate he is not anti-vax.

He also has said over and over he would not ban any vaccines if he ever were to be elected and that his main thrust with vaccines is to assure rigorous testing of them and that the companies making them are liable for any harm they may cause to people. As far as I can tell from listening to the man, that's his stance. He also has openly offered to discuss his vaccine thoughts with anybody and anyone that will discuss them with him.

He is said to have ended up being labelled anti-vax during the Covid pandemic when things he said were labelled dangerous for being "malinformation" which is a made-up term that means information that is true but does not benefit the public by being exposed to it...according to whomever is making that decision at the time.

To me, there is much more to the guy than his positions on vaccinations and he is not blaming, according to what I have heard him say, vaccinations on the "epidemic" of children that have a variety of illness and disabilities.

He talks about a toxic soup that they are swimming around in in our modern day world. These are environmental factors as well as perhaps medical ones.  Thimerosal and Dr. Wakefield seem to get brought up a lot when people talk about him. I have heard the thimerosal aspects and a debunking of what he is saying about thimerosal and if it (as a type of mercury) is harmful. As I understand it, it is not. I do not know if he has changed or corrected his position on it. In what I have seen, I have never heard him cite Dr. Wakefield.

I do know from what he has said that he is not laying an increase of autism on just thimerosal. He believes, as I have understood him, that is an entire variety of factors that have led to an increase in unhealthy children.

He obviously is doing a lot of interviews now and the Right wingers love him because he speaks openly about what his differences are with Biden and many of the people that do or will talk to him are specifically talking to him because they want him to say something anti-vax or they just want to get him to criticize Biden.

I do think the media and Democrats have been amazingly awful toward him because they have taken the stance that he must be dismissed and destroyed because Biden is a weak candidate. Also Biden may be taking a damaging approach to the first couple sessions of voting in this country in Iowa and New Hampshire where he does not bother to campaign in either and so loses in both of those states. It's a questionable choice if he does not participate and would/could give another candidate like Kennedy a leg up on him before the primaries move south.

This makes people nervous, and it should, because he should not begin by looking shaky and if bypasses both Iowa and New Hampshire he very well may.  Let's be clear, I don't think RFK Jr. is going to get anywhere near the presidency. Both Democrats and the media will be looking to wipe him out as soon as possible. They also do not want to see him win 20% or more of a primary vote because that would mean he has, under the system, earned the right to get on a debate stage with Biden. There is no way in hell they want to see that happen...ever.

So, the campaign against him, to label him insane, horrible, dangerous, a joke...well...that will be intense to try to crush him before a vote is cast.  So, the question I ask is why is Bobby running now? Why bother when the media and your party are going to be all out against you and attempting to destroy any possibility of you running ever?

There are only two reasonable answers and they are, he believes in the messages he is trying to get out there to the point where he is willing to be destroyed to deliver them, or as some people think, he is angling for a position in the next Biden administration. Not sure that can happen now that he has been labelled dangerous, disgusting, and insane by Democrats.

He is a man with the power to unite. He has excellent foreign policy ideas. He is fearless in facing his challengers and standing up for people. So, yes, I like and respect him for that. There should be a viable back-up to Biden in the event he has a health crisis. I don't think Harris is it, so it is probably Gavin Newsome.  Bobby Kennedy is in too tough a position to make an impact and because they have gone all out against him, I think he is in too lousy a position to ever get into a position in the federal government. To me, watching his campaign is an exorcise in watching how the media and Democrats will destroy their own when they feel they have to.
