You seem to have an endless ability to baffle me, Pat. I assume from the link you added you meant the guy that shot up the baseball practice where Scalise was wounded. Obviously, he's dead, Pat, that's what happened. After shooting up the practice he was himself badly injured in the incident, transported to a hospital, and died. He didn't disappear from the news, he died from his injuries. Really, the question is though, what does that have to do with the mess the Republicans created, their bizarro choices for who should replace McCarthy, and your theory that the idea with canning McCarthy is to replace him with a strong man?
Do you think Scalise is the strong man they need for their long game? What kind of strong do you think they need? Basically, what McCarthy failed to do was to shutdown the government...which would not have been "strong" it would have been...well...stupid, cruel, and costly. Shutting down the government would hurt the economy and cost the country likely $4 billion dollars or more that would never be recovered. It would do grievous harm to the country and our citizens. It would put hard working people out of work and cause them to struggle and because it would cut off vital services for some, it would end up killing some people.
People like Gaetz and Trump have no issue with that kind of thing because they don't care about anybody but themselves. The rest of us, you know that have a heart and soul and the ability to reason, find that pretty disgusting because they are doing it for political theater only.
What I am always baffled by are the people that support someone like Trump that don't see how ridiculous and ignorant it is to just take a big pile of billions of dollars and set it on fire, while goons like Trump and Gaetz dance around the flames, laughing at all of the people they just screwed...which not for nothing, includes children.
That's the very definition of wasteful, misguided, big government that Republicans claim to be against...on a massive and really obscene scale.
That's really what we are talking about here, not the guy that died after shooting Scalise in the hip.
