at least to some extent as the writer sees ..or skip it & move on. Especially if my role here has been to riff quippy drivel in a blurb that aims for some humor, some irony, & heart, babyy, 'cos without heart hope is lost and without hope -- well, fckit!

It's just that until yours I'd never seen use of the phrase: "full tonto". I have done some deep dive since and found that it's also been used to describe select men of currupt power. So you were right on target and I'm just a hair-bit smarter now.

That Tonto was meant as a slur in The Lone Ranger is just another early 20th Century coincidence of bigotry. FWIW the Tonto character played by Jay Silverheels was the only role in the story that had my attention as a kid.

That the writer opted to task his hero with secretly insulting his Potawatomi companion is a defining moment. Maybe not unlike an early 1970s choice by film producers to have the Chinese Shaolin monk, Kwai Chang Caine, be played (very confusingly to me as a child) by David Carradine rather than Bruce Lee.
