I hope I did not sound like I was snapping at you. I had a bad day yesterday with political conversations and the truth is, I can see how rough a year this is going to be for me.
I know you don't like Trump as much as I don't like Trump. I don't mean in any way to defend Biden, I just can't at all see how he can be blamed for the insanity that is the Middle East. I mean they are negotiating with everybody over there, not just Israel. It's gotta be like juggling 18 flaming chainsaws while someone shoots at you with a machine gun. To lay responsibility on Biden or Blinken seems ridiculous to me.
Yeah, I lose it a bit when I hear that mainly because people here say it and they say it with the specific purpose to do damage to Biden, so he loses this election. In a more normal time, this would be no big deal. I am all for criticizing politicians, questioning their actions, being hard on their choices...but now...with Trump raving about his having absolute immunity to cross the line and commit any crime, our corrupt Supreme Court about to make a couple rulings that could very well streamline Trump's path to being a fascist dictator...well, man...my nerves are shot.
I am looking for the ways we can do good and positive things and so reading/hearing people saying "Well, fuck it, we're all going to die let's accept it." rubs me the wrong way. I also get irritated by that because that is exactly what the people behind pushing someone like Trump on us want us to feel. They want us to all feel doomed and lost. They want us to just accept we will all be destroyed and we have no choice and no chance.
I don't believe that shit for one minute. I can't take the idea that people give up before the fight has even started. That's often what it feels like.
