I've said over and over that nobody is angrier than a Republican that realizes how badly Trump has conned them when they finally discover this fact. Well, this 20 year old guy, according to FOX news, was a registered Republican and last night he attempted to kill Trump. He appears to have been a good student, no criminal record, no major financial problems in his life, according to FOX. So, we don't know yet why he did what he did, so anything in that direction would be speculation. Unless he left a note somewhere or told people why he was so upset with Trump, we may never know. I'm sure social media is being scrubbed by authorities for posts and info that may provide clues or explanations. 

I have a couple thoughts about this incident, first, it will help Trump in the election and he will use it for all it is worth. It's already being reported that the photo of Trump, blood spattered face, raising his fist while being held up by Secret Service agents, with the American flag waving in the background is already considered one of the most iconic photos in history. 

Second, there was a post made under Trump's Truth Social account about the shooting, Trump did not write it, but whomever did attributed to him that something like it is unbelievable something like this could happen in our country. 

Well, no it is not, something like this happens in our country daily, just in this case, Trump was the one being shot at. Why was he being shot at remains to be seen but Trump has spewed violent rhetoric from the moment he stepped onto the political stage. His "American carnage" speech being fairly well remembered, I'd say. Well, yesterday, he nearly became a victim of his rhetoric, a victim of American carnage. 

The shooter came about 2 inches from likely hitting Trump right in the forehead. An innocent person in the crowd was killed instantly, taking one of the bullets meant for Trump. Now, it should be noted by the media and our political establishment that this all did not happen out of the blue. It did not happen in a vacuum. No, Trump has spewed violent garbage for some time, promising bloodbaths and violence if the country was not handed over to him. He's quoted Hitler directly. 

Now, he should never have been shot at, nobody should support that, but there is that old saying, live by the sword...

We will now have to watch how this country reacts, but things are cemented for Trump now, the images from yesterday's attempt on his life appear iconic and we will see them a lot. His raised fist and chanting "Fight!" at the crowd with blood streaming across his face will make him appear heroic to many people. 

It may have been the moment that decided this election.
