Yeah. Marge will be Marge. That’s why so many Republicans are supporting Shawn Harris. I was at a Paulding Democrats event with him yesterday and he added to a story he had told me before about Republicans recruiting him to run against MTG even after they found out he was a Democrat. 

Before he retired at the rank of Brigadier General, Shawn made a trip to DC and spoke to Nancy Pelosi and SHE wanted him to run for this seat. He sent emails to 3 people in the Democratic Party of GA, waited and then didn’t hear back. 

He retired, moved to this district to his fully operational cattle farm, Nancy asked him if he heard from DPG & he hadn’t. She then talked to the chair of the DPG and current holder of John Lewis’ seat in Congress Nikema Williams and Shawn was contacted by DPG which was about the same time the 3 Republican turned up on his front porch wanting him to primary MTG. They incorrectly assumed that because he was a military man, he was a Republican. When they pitched their idea to him he told them “I’ll be glad to run, but I can’t primary her. I’m a Democrat.” They were quiet a minute, and then said ok. We can do that. Let’s hope that enough people either vote for Shawn Harris or skip Marge’s name on the ballot. 

In the primary, 17% of Paulding County republicans voted for President; skipped congressional race; and voted the rest of the ballot. In the ruby red county next door, it was 12%! That is unheard of!!

We’ll of course have to see what happens in the election. I know it will make his really really strong followers more determined to vote for him. What will it do to the “IDK. I guess I’ll vote trump” crowd? Damn, I wish I still had my crystal ball!!

At least we can’t say this is a boring election, although one of those kind elections might be a welcome change!!!!
