Cadillac
A jacked up cadillac benz was a variation on a childhood dream I had, actually a Cadillac (sort of) SUV, a 1977 Cadillac Eldorado convertible body on a Toyota Landcruiser
frame with a custom 4-wheel drive transmission powered by a Mercedes Benz 6.9 Litre engine. Jacked up high and tight. All painted gun metal grey, including the chrome. The kind of thing a bored kid will draw in geometry class on a rainy day. I drew a million of them growing up.
Submarine
The submarine was the dreaded Korg M1, an odious digital synth from the mid-80s. It did have one sort of neat sound, called "Pole", which up high sounded like somebody hitting a tetherball pole with a ballpeen hammer. Lower down it sounded sort of like a 60's submarine movie sonar.
Time
Your guess is as good as mine. I know Jay Cocks was sort of a fan, he'd written about my thing before, and he was the music editor then. Or maybe the A&M publicist got to him somehow.
Vanity leads me to prefer the former.
Dr. Walsh
You've pricked my imagination.
