Setting aside the faces behind the Fla debacle, you're content with the US Supreme Court imposing their rule over the State's Supreme Court because _you_ think the rules were being bent in Fla.  Based on your Federalism argument, the stoner-geek-jocks in Fla (in this case, the Fla Supreme Court) should be allowed - no, expected - to do as they see fit in their dorm/state.
