The main thing I got from it is "Lets play politics" If (and the keyword is IF) this ever starts taking shape, it's time for the dissenters on the otherside of the fence to provide an alternative to all of this and not just sit on their hands worrying and sniping people who rattle their cages. ('Alternative' is usually defined as a workable opposite...not character assasination of Karl Rove)

Before there's a debate about the kind of people Republican's attract it's worth mentioning that the last time the Dems won any kind of majority was 1964 and where certain DNC strategists like to harrangue the Republicans for not winning the 'black vote', the DNC haven't won the 'white vote' for even longer. But don't let that put you off your crusade. There's also the issue that half of the people registered to vote didn't, so all it takes is for these social troopers to get out and start a silent revolution instead of writing shrill articles pretending to speak for all those people they'll ignore over these next 3 years.

Perhaps Rove's comments should have been framed alongside the dellusions Ron Dellums had when he stated an ambition to dismantle the military defences of America. As far as my life goes, Dellums is the more 'subversive' figure to have around than someone aspiring to a 'back to basics' conservatism.
