: The young lady who killed her baby in the bathroom was not a liberal, nor do liberals support such actions. The girl who killed her baby was selfish and wrong, not liberal.  Your comments infer that folks like myself support this kind of thing or that our lack of concern for all the babies leads murder.

Paul,

Nowhere did I say the young lady was a liberal.  I was giving an example of some of the pathetic justice being meted out by our liberal courts to show the direction we're heading.

:  Liberals support a society where if a woman becomes pregnant, she does not feel forced to dump an infant in the trash...

Forced to dump an infant in the trash?  Really?  Who is forcing anybody to dump an infant in the trash?  If she feels forced to do anything it should be that she feels forced/compelled to do what is right and either become the responsible parent the child needs or give the baby up for adoption.

: I appreciate and admire your fervor.  I think I've asked you this once before...have you adopted any children?  Have you supported local and state agencies that help find permanant homes for unwanted children?

I haven't adopted any children, Paul but I am a step-parent with an unconditional love for my daughter.  I know this love could just as easily have been showered upon an adopted child.  I can't say that I've directly supported any state or local agencies which find homes for waiting children but after our conversation, I intend to.  We support Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life at www.mccl.org.  My wife and I also volunteer at our local food shelf...imagine that.

Conservatives in the media are potrayed as insensitive and uncaring.  Actually, conservatives want just what you do...a safe place to live and raise our families so they can be free to realize their potential.

I'm losing patience with that segment of society which is quick to claim victim status and just as quick to shirk their responsibilities to themselves of all people in addition to others.  I know there aren't black and white solutions but I sense the general direction we're headed as a society and I believe we've got to change our thinking because this road we're traveling isn't taking us in a direction of betterment.

I find appealing the Karl Rove article which started this discussion much to the chagrin of many of you.  Is Mr Rove out to try and destroy people's lives?  Is he trying to improve his life at the expense of someone elses?  He sees the decay in our society and I can only assume he feels it's a result of our ever increasing permissiveness/liberalness.  I agree with what he sees and I agree that a change in direction is needed.

I'm not contributing this to change minds...just to let my side be heard.

Sincerely,

Kevin g
