Thanks for the recommendation.  I bought a copy of the novel a couple of weeks back, but have just gotten to the point of being able to sit down with it.  At first glance, the prose style seems interesting to me, and the characters are definitely drawn well enough to propel me past the first chapter (which is all I have read thus far).

Interesting to read that Mossman didn't follow up this successful book but instead "vanished" from the literary scene.  I'm also, of course, glad to hear that he is alive and well, and writing again.

I would be curious to know what in my recent posts made you think of this book, but maybe it'll become obvious to me when I have read more of it.  You are starting it now, and I am starting it now, so why not an occasional foray into the novel here?

Would other DB board people be interested in reading this book & possibly doing a little discussion about it here, now and then?  Not to take over the board or anything, but just as a way to discuss something without necessarily referencing political parties and world-conquering lizards?
