Here is something I'd like to try here: About once a week I'd like to see a poster pick a DB song and post their thoughts about it and then the rest of us add on. So I would like to try and kick this off with the song "The Postman." After getting out of the military in Jan of 93, I was at Best Buy and for some reason looked in the racks under "B" and saw Triage and about crapped in my pants. I didn't even know it was coming out. I took it to where I was staying with my wife of three years (we were living with my parents because I was unemployed at the time) and that night started playing it. Secret Silken World immediately grabbed me, but The Postman struck me with its maniac ranting noise and calm beauty. The sounds of the helicopters gave me chills, while the hollow words of Bush Sr created worry in my search for a job. So late at night I would drink a bit (a lie, it was a lot) and listen to that cd and repeat The Postman over and over again. I guess it reminded me of our living arrangments, no job and dispair, while at the same time, filled me with a grand level of beauty and hope.
