I'm a big fan of Nick Drake's work but he's an example of someone I wish I knew less about because when you find out about his history it adds a level that I wish was not there when listening to his music. He seems to have been sort of fragile soul who battled hard with depression.
His records are all very beautiful though...yes there is sadness that runs through some of the songs...and well worth picking up. I think he deserves any praise they throw at him.
I think they are planning a film about him and I believe recently there was a documentary about him. I didn't see the documentary and I'm not sure I want to...sometimes I think it can be best to know less.
