Reg,
Abortion strikes a nerve with me like no other issue does and so I have a hard time staying out of any discussion where it is concerned. The partial birth abortion issue is something I’ll never understand. The thought of it causes me to wonder how mankind ever came to accept something so awful. I know that people agonize over these decisions but there’s a reason for that. They know what they’re doing is terribly wrong and so the guilt is there but the government has said it’s okay so they go ahead.
I want government out of my medical records just as much as you but I worry in this instance that there will be unscrupulous doctors who will continue to provide the procedure regardless of the law. Maybe there’s a way to cleanse the record of the individual’s name but leave the record whole…maybe not.
Debating abortion is futile. I think all that happens is we cause each other to dig our heels in further and no progress is made. It still doesn’t stop me from taking an opportunity to make a point. When you made your post responding to Roger I couldn’t help but feel that any concern for where the government was sticking their nose was far outweighed by the possibility that this procedure was still being done. That’s where I was coming from.
