O m'god Scamp...a man to my own heart, your words are "music" to my ears (pardon the pun).  Yep, Viva Terlingua captures so much of that era.  It might interest you that Jerry Jeff's tour STILL includes Gruene Hall.  His tour schedule is on the JJ web site, and there is a hard copy newsletter as well.  He spends once a month or so in Belize.  My first JJ concert, and he mentioned it between songs last night, was in Calgary, Alberta in 1976, during the Calgary Stampede festival. As I recall, he also had trouble standing on stage for that one...musta been all the "Sangria Wine".
