heading off topic here, but i saw Blue Oyster Cult the other night, and they were quite good. they sold out Slim's, too, how about that? maybe you need to write more songs about giant lizards, i dunno (the shape-shifting ones just don't capture the public's imagination well enough, unfortunately). on drums was Bobby Rondenelli (of Rainbow, uh, fame); yes, Virginia, there was a drum solo, and the biggest fucking Paiste gong i've ever seen. at the end of the solo, he hit it...once......its only usage of the entire show. if i was the roadcrew, i would lament such a poor 'luggage to usage' ratio, but so be it. other than that, the cheese factor was remarkably low. Buck Dharma freakin' shreds, and Eric Bloom - minus the big black fro (no spring chicken, he) - was in nice & odd form. a good showing by one of our undersung original weird metal-ish groups. BOC! BOC!
