Thanks for an excellent post. I just popped in "Thud" myself - I had not listened to it since before the attacks. I have never listened so intently to the lyrics before.

Lots of luck getting permission from the current Kevin Gilbert camp. The webmaster of his site is.. is... I won't say it here (but others have). Let's just say she treats all his work as her own little fiefdom - and she ain't sharing.

I've started compiling a cd myself, but it isn't really about 911 but rather about war and lost ideals. One of the songs in the selection is from Jon Butcher called "Holy War". Here's a snippet of the lyrics that I found pretty chilling considering where the attacks originated:
