Icon In Defense of Kevin G

As most know, Kevin G and his several of his views appear to be in the minority here, but that is alright to me.  I think it takes a lot of balls to come in here and completely disagree with the majority.  Frankly, I wish Pat, Richard and the other righties would post more sincere thoughts.  The attacks and snide personal remarks I can do without, but sincere postings are welcome in my view.  (Humorous sarcasm is fine too I think).

As for Bush and human rights; I'm sorry, but in the realm of republican politics, human rights haven't been too much of their platform.  I'm not saying they don't care about human rights, only that they focus on other issues - too much so in my opinion.

Which leads us to Iraq.  From the start the Bush Adminstration did not push human rights issues.  It pushed WMD's, 9/11, nuclear war, ties to al Queda and only came back to human rights when so much of these cases fell apart.

The Bush Adminstration should have stuck with several areas that could have been proven true: 1) Hussein was a terrible human rights abuser, 2) His removal might help bring stability to the Middle East if done correctly, especially decades down the road, 3) His behavior was unpredictable, 4) He probably will attempt to reconstitute his weapons programs.

Lastly, here is something to chew on.......look at this issue if you were anything but an American and from a historical point.  Look at what we have now learned over the past two years and how Middle East people see all of this behavior by the Bush Adminstration.  Mubarak of Egypt is now saying Americans are now hated by all Muslims like never before.

I'm not saying to fall into the "blame America" game, but we need to take a sincere and deep look into America's eyes and ask if we really are all that we want to be and all that we profess to be; especially to the rest of the world.
