Kevin G,
Not to harp, but you did not answer a lot of questions that I posed to those who would like to see most abortions end (frankly, I think all of us would like to see that someday).
Here is another. Since you wrote you believe that life begins at conception (the sperm fertilizing the egg) than I take it you are against things such as the morning after pill. Is that the case?
And in the gathering of statistics, too often people form them to make their point. For example, a young teen may not see it as a matter of "convenience" to have an abortion. And to top it off, there is quite a bit of research out there that is showing young girls are developing faster than ever. This is important because our society uses sex to sell like never before. You can't turn on the tv, open a magazine, or turn on the radio without being sold something by sex. Then throw in parents that don't teach their children about sex at all and a so-called Judeo-Christian country that goes insane at the mention of sex education (but oddly thinks teaching kids about the harms of drugs won't promote drug use but teaching kids about sex will cause them to be rampant nymphomaniacs...the logic is quite odd is it not?).
One other area that needs to examined quite deeply is sexual abuse within the family and its role in abortions. Until in my present occupation I had no idea how prevelant sexual abuse is within the family. It is staggering.
